open the doors In 2026

Help us re-open the Richard Hunt Studio Center in Benton Harbor this year.

Our goal is to raise $250,000 to open to the public in 2026.

GIVE TODAY

The building is gorgeous. It has been in hibernation and now is the time to bring it to life. It needs to be woken up.

~ Paul Fletcher, bOARD MEMBER & Donor

Since gaining operations of the site in 2025, Krasl Art Center has stewarded the replacement of the building’s roof, is finalizing the site’s non-profit status, and has launched programs in the Benton Harbor community. Next steps include enhancing the building’s safety, security, and accessibility to allow for it to open to the public.

A Generous Start

Through the generosity of local arts supporters Paul Fletcher and Nancy Hourigan, $50,000 has already been raised toward the goal. Paul is a retired Civil Engineer and project manager who has served on the Krasl Board of Directors for several years. Fletcher has worked closely with KAC Executive Director, Tami Fauver, to gauge the needs of the Studio. The two have walked through the building with inspectors, architects, construction teams, community members, and Krasl committees. The focus has been on safety, security, and accessibility - all of which lead to the ability to open the Studio to the public.
